Ahmad is a 52-year-old married man from Lebanon who is living with his wife and three children, who are still attending school. He has owned a butchery since 1998 with two full-time employees helping him with the work.
Today, he is applying for a loan from Kiva partner Vitas s.a.l. to renovate his shop and improve his operations. We all know that buying meat from unknown and unclean places can cause diseases. So, Ahmad’s only target is to sanitize his environment and make renovations in order to attract customers as much as possible to buy his fresh and clean meat kept in good and healthy conditions. In the future, Ahmad plans to expand his business into other areas.
Due to political and social challenges in Lebanon, personally identifiable attributes entrepreneurs may have been altered to protect their privacy (i.e., blurring portions of the borrower's picture, not indicating a name and location, etc.). Vitas appreciates Kiva lenders' understanding of these challenges and encourages them to continue their support for Lebanon's borrowers.
