A loan of $375 helped to buy wood.

Maurino's story

Maurino is 62 and is married with two children. He lives together with his wife in his house, which is constructed with wood.

Maurino has a small workshop where he makes furniture and other wood objects. He learned this trade thanks to his uncle, who taught him, but over the years, he decided to open his own workshop. Thanks to his work, he has been able to be a lifeline for his wife and send his children to school, with the intention that they will be able to overcome and have a better quality of life.

Maurino relies on a two hectare plot where he works when he doesn't have orders pending in his carpentry workshop. This is his first loan with Kiva, and he hopes to count on financial support to move forward with his business. For this, he promises to pay his dues in a timely fashion. For this opportunity, he is asking for 1,000 new soles to purchase wood.
