Annah is a widow who has eight children, one of whom currently attends school. Annah retired from her job as a nurse in 2004 to take care of her family after the death of the husband who was the major supporter to the family, and she decided to concentrate on agriculture. It is from agriculture that she earns some income to supplement her pension so that the family is taken care of.
Annah is paying the school fees for her daughter. But because it is not yet coffee harvesting season, Annah has approached Ugafode for a loan of 800,000 shillings to pay the school fees and she plans to pay back the loan after the coffee harvest.
Annah's dream is to see her daughter complete her studies and get something to do so that she can support the family. However, as a result of her limited income and the seasonality of agriculture which at times leaves her with nothing to sell to earn money, she constantly faces the challenge of paying the fees.
