Esther is 39 years old and married with seven children. Out of them, five are school-going. She is a peasant farmer involved in the growing of crops and raising animals. It is from agriculture that she gets income to look after the family.
She previously got a loan of UGX 200,000 (Two hundred thousand shillings) to pay school fees so her children were able to do their exams for the last term. She now wants a loan of UGX 1,000,000 (One million shillings) to pay school fees for her son who is studying in a nursing school.
Esther wishes to see all her children go to school and complete their studies. However, her main challenge is that she has limited sources of income to achieve her dream. The other problem she faces is the changing weather which affects agriculture and therefore limits her cash flow. In the photograph, Esther is with the UGAFODE Credit officer.
