Maria Aracely
María Aracely is 26 years old a single mother of a small girl who is a minor. She has a primary-school education, which she was able to complete thanks to support from her parents. It was them who taught her when she was very young to do farming, such as planting and cultivating potatoes and broccoli, among other crops, which are sold through middle-men who come to the area in search of a good product at the local market. For this work, she has gained family support from her older brother and her father, who go by foot every day to the land where they work, which is 200 meters from their house.

She has requested a loan from Kiva partner COMIXMUL to be able to purchase certified potato seeds, compost, and fertilizer that prove to yield a good and plentiful harvest.

Her plan as a mother is to give her daughter all the necessary support possible so that she can study and prepare herself for university-level education. Her goal is to pay her loan, as promised, and with the revenues, save part and reinvest it in her farming to be able to continue working and progressing.

Historically, COMIXMUL has had significant demand for this product that it has been unable to meet. Thanks to Kiva, COMIXMUL will be able to expand access to solar technology to more borrowers.
