She is a young entrepreneur, courageous and experienced. She is 36 years old and has five children, all of whom is in school. Her husband is a civil engineering technician. Nicole sells beverage. She launched this business with funds received from her husband about eight years ago. This new loan will allow her to buy three cases of Primus [beer], three cases of Turbo King [beer], two cases of Mutzig [beer] and five cases of Fanta. Given the overall economic crisis and currency exchange losses (Congolese francs into [US] dollars), selling on credit is a main challenge she faces in her business. In the future she would like to expand her business and provide for schooling, nourishment and clothing for her children. Finally, she thanks Hekima for its support in providing microloans to female entrepreneurs.

This is a Group Loan

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a larger group of individuals. The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee. In cases where there is a group guarantee, members of the group are responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members in the case of delinquency or default.

Kiva's Field Partners typically feature one borrower from a group. The loan description, sector, and other attributes for a group loan profile are determined by the featured borrower's loan. The other members of the group are not required to use their loans for the same purpose.
