Blanca Rosa, está casada, tiene la edad de 50 años y vive con su esposo e hijos. Ella con el crédito pretende comprar los insumos como el abono y los plaguicidas para mantener su cultivo en buenas condiciones de producción. Ella tienen varios años de tener este terreno y actualmente se encuentra en condiciones desfavorables de cosecha por lo cual quiere mejorarlo para este próximo año aumentar su producción y con la venta de su café aumentar sus ingresos para ayudar al bienestar de su hogar y alivianar las responsabilidades del jefe de hogar. Es el tercer préstamo que recibido de FUDECOSUR. Ella no había tenido antes otros préstamos en bancos estatales, pero FUDECOSUR le ha brindado el préstamo con mayores facilidades y la tasa de intereses mucho más baja.

FUDECOSUR works in one of the poorest regions of Costa Rica, where microfinance institutions (MFIs) are scarce or have a hard time keeping up with demand for small loans. By providing mostly agricultural loans, FUDECOSUR reaches rural borrowers that many MFIs consider to be too risky.
