Neang is 33 years old, married and the father of three children, two of whom attend school. He lives with his family in Kompong Cham province, where he has earned a living for a long time by growing rice and selling pigs to people in local markets. He earns a decent income and is able to feed his entire family. At the moment, he is short on funds to buy more pigs. In order to continue expanding his business, he is requesting a loan for KHR 5,000,000 through HKL, a longstanding Kiva partner, to buy more pigs to sell. He hopes this loan will allow him to generate additional income and improve his family's living conditions.
Hattha Kaksekar Limited is one of the largest and most successful microfinance institutions (MFIs) in Cambodia. The organization provides microfinance services to the poor, particularly women, in urban and rural areas. Kiva lenders’ funds will be used to expand the outreach of HKL’s financial services to a greater number of clients in rural areas of Cambodia.
