Eng is a rural villager in Pursat province, Cambodia. She is 50 years old and has four children. She grows rice and raises pigs as the main sources of her family’s income. Having been in this business for 11 years, she can earn about 15,000 KHR per day.
Eng has been with VisionFund for three cycles and she has repaid the past loans successfully. The past loans have helped her to support her family better. Now she is applying for 2,000,000 KHR loan to buy more pigs to raise. She will also use a portion of the loan to buy pig feed. She hopes to fatten her pigs so she can sell them for a good price and use the money to improve her family's living conditions.
About VisionFund Cambodia
VisionFund Cambodia is a Christian organization and microfinance institution that provides small loans and other financial services to improve the lives of children, empower poor women and their families, and grow successful businesses. The organization works primarily in rural parts of Cambodia and has distinguished itself by targeting the very poor who require smaller loan sizes, regardless of religious beliefs, gender or ethnic background.
Kiva lenders’ funds will help the organization to expand into the northeastern provinces of the country, which have historically been underserved and difficult to reach with financial services.
