Fridah is a single mother of four children, two in school. She also takes care of her grandchildren. She does tailoring and has been in this business for six years. She has applied for a loan of 400000 Uganda shillings from MCDTSACCO to buy more rolls of clothing material and threads. She doesn’t have any other income-generating activity. She works at the market six days a week and sells on retail basis only. Her major business challenges include seasonality and defaulters. She is aspiring to own a tailoring school and also to buy a plot of land to build her own house. She resides in a rented house and the family has access to electricity and piped water. Her monthly expenses include rent, school fees and food for the family.
