María is 27 years old and completed up to the end of sixth grade at primary school. María works in farming, growing beans and corn, alongside her husband. The couple has four children, two of whom are in school; one is at nursery and the youngest is not yet old enough for school. María has been working in farming and growing coffee for over eight years. She learned this trade from her parents, who were farmers all their lives. They earned a living growing corn and beans. María bought her land after a lot of effort, hard work and dedication. The plot is a kilometre from the family home and María and her husband arrive there by foot.

María is currently applying for a loan in order to buy fertiliser, manure and other supplies to maintain her coffee plants, which are her only source of income to support the family.

María's future plan is to buy more plots of land so as to continue to grow crops. As a mother, her dream is to see her children have better living conditions and for the them to have more opportunities so that, later, they can be better off.

María es una mujer de 27 años de edad con un grado de educación cursado hasta sexto de primaria que en compañía de su esposo trabajan la agricultura en lo que el cultivo de maíz y frijoles. Ellos tienen 4 hijos dos están en la escuela, uno en el kínder y último aún está bien pequeño. Ella se dedica a la agricultura en lo que es el cultivo de café hace más de 8 años actividad aprendida de su padres que han sido agricultores toda la vida y sus actividades económicas son el cultivo de maíz y frijoles. Las tierras que ella en compañía de su pareja cultiva las han adquirido gracias al esfuerzo, trabajo y dedicación para tener lo propio las cuales están ubicadas a una distancia de un kilómetro a la cual se trasladan a pie.

María actualmente solicita ayuda para la compra de fertilizante, abono entro otros insumos para dar mantenimiento a sus cultivos de café los cuales son su único medio de ingreso familiar.

Sus planes a futuro es comprar más parcelas de tierra para seguir cultivando y su sueño como madre es ver a sus hijos en mejores condiciones de vida y que tengan la oportunidad de estudiar para que el día de mañana sean mejores.
