The members of the group called BENKADI A are married women with an average age of 40 and four children on average, all living in polygamous families in FANIDIAMA, one of the villages of KADIOLO in the region of SIKASSO, third administrative region of Mali.

They collaborate with the microfinance institution Soro Yiriwaso so as to succeed with their agricultural activites during the rainy season.

They are on their eleventh loan with the institution, and the past loans have been correctly reimbursed. Djenebou Yacou, standing in the middle, grows peanuts. With her loan she intends to buy seeds and farm inputs for two hectares.

The produce is sold in the village and at the market of Sikasso, after the harvest, to a clientele composed of men and women. She expects to make a profit of 175,000 francs CFA during the growing season. This profit will allow her to repay her loan and also to help her husband with daily expenses.

Les membres du groupe BENKADI A sont des femmes mariées ayant une moyenne d’âge de 40 ans, 4 enfants et vivant toutes dans des familles polygames à FANIDIAMA, un des villages de KADIOLO dans la région SIKASSO 3ème région administrative du Mali.
Elles collaborent avec l’institution de micro finance Soro Yiriwaso afin de mener à bien leurs activités agricoles pendant l’hivernage.
Elles sont à leur onzième prêt avec l’institution, les prêts passés ont été bien remboursés. La spéculation cultivée est l’arachide avec DJENEBOU YACOU debout au milieu. Avec son prêt, elle compte acheter les semences et intrants pour entretenir 2 hectares.
La production est vendue au niveau du village, au marché de SIKASSO après la récolte à une clientèle composée d’hommes et de femmes.
Elle compte réaliser un bénéfice de 175.000 francs CFA par campagne.
Ce bénéfice lui permettra de payer son prêt et aussi d’aider son mari dans les dépenses quotidiennes.

Soro Yiriwaso is a microfinance institution that works primarily in rural and semi-urban areas of Mali to provide underprivileged communities with access to financial services.The organization facilitates access for disadvantaged clients, particularly women, to new resources and services, fostering solidarity and cooperation among its clients. Kiva lenders’ funds will enable Soro Yiriwaso to expand its outreach and target even more underserved Malians involved in business and agriculture.
