Cate is married with three children and only one of her children goes to school. She also takes care of additional family members (her in-laws). She has a business selling green bananas. She has been in this business for 10 years. She has applied for a loan of 500,000 Uganda shillings from MCDT-SACCO to buy more bunches of green bananas. She generates additional income through selling milk and fish. She sells on a retail basis only, seven days out of every week.
Cate's major business challenges include transportation and seasonality. She is aspiring of getting permanent business premises and also becoming a wholesaler. She resides in her own house and the family has access to electricity and piped water. Her monthly expenses include school fees and paying utility bills.
