Syokau
Syokau is a married woman with three children all of whom attend school. She lives in a rental house that has neither electricity nor piped water. Her greatest monthly expenses are food and school fees.

For the past nine years, she has operated a food kiosk business selling food stuff such as maize flour and cooking fat to her neighbours and passersby. She mentioned the seasonality of high costs as her major challenge. She dreams of establishing a wholesale shop in the future.

With the Kshs 30,000 loan she plans to purchase maize flour, rice, beans, sugar, and cooking oil. She decided to join Kiva partner Yehu in order to access loans to boost her business.
