Nageena's Group
In this Group: Nageena, Shumaila
Nageena is a 28 year old hardworking and diligent woman. She lives in Rawalpindi, Pakistan along her husband and three daughters. Her husband is a government employee but his income is insufficient to meet the household expenses. All of her daughters are studying in government schools.

Nageena is an efficient beautician by profession. Since 2006 she has been operating her own beauty salon. Currently the beauty stock of the salon is almost depleted, therefore Nageena wants to purchase cosmetic products to continue her business. For that, as a member of a 2-person borrower group she has requested for a loan from Kiva's partner BRAC Pakistan to purchase beauty products like facial creams, lipsticks, scrubs, makeup kits, hair colors and some other variety of products. She would also buy some new chairs for her salon.

With the profits, she will extend her business more by opening one more beauty salon. She dreams to live a happy healthy and peaceful life with her family. She is very thankful to Kiva and BRAC Pakistan for their support.

Note: In the picture Nageena is the one raising her hand.

This is a Group Loan

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a larger group of individuals. The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee. In cases where there is a group guarantee, members of the group are responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members in the case of delinquency or default.

Kiva's Field Partners typically feature one borrower from a group. The loan description, sector, and other attributes for a group loan profile are determined by the featured borrower's loan. The other members of the group are not required to use their loans for the same purpose.
