Dioscora lives in the village of Pangabuan, Tangub City, located in the province of Misamis Occidental. She is 49 years old and has been engaged in farming and agriculture for many years.
Dioscora has a garden, and she grows fruit, vegetables and different types of crops. She also keeps cattle and chickens on her farm. All the goods that she has from farming and agriculture she sells in towns to resellers. Dioscora wants to buy feed and to repair the livestock shelter; for this she needs 35,000 PHP, which she has requested from GDMPC microcredit. Dioscora hopes very much that this will help her to enrich the quantity of her farm and animals and bring more income for the good of the entire family.
Gata Daku Multi-Purpose Cooperative (GDMPC) was founded in 1992 by 32 farmer-members to empower people by providing livelihood opportunities and other support services. Today, it has over 15,000 members located in upland, lowland and coastal regions of the Philippines, and offers credit, savings, education, and various social services.
