Santiago Jr. is 57 years old and married with three children. He lives in Silanga, Tangub City. Santiago Jr. is operating a service-based business providing transportation services to local community members to earn a living. He has been doing this for five years and every month he earns 15,000 Philippine pesos (PHP) from this work. He has requested a loan of 17,000 PHP to purchase a new set of tires and other accessories.
Santiago Jr. has been a member of GDMPC for two years. In the future, Santiago Jr. hopes to to have a reserve fund for the future of his children.
Gata Daku Multi-Purpose Cooperative (GDMPC) was founded in 1992 by 32 farmer-members to empower people by providing livelihood opportunities and other support services. Today, it has over 15,000 members located in upland, lowland and coastal regions of the Philippines, and offers credit, savings, education, and various social services.
