Anteriormente tuvo que trabajar en diferentes talleres para lograr tener experiencia y de esa manera independizarse, es así como emprendió su negocio. Como actividad complementaria trabaja como chofer de camiones, transportando carga a la costa, percibiendo un ingreso extra que le ayuda a mejorar su nivel de vida y el de su familia. Rolando espera sacar adelante su pequeño taller y hacerlo crecer de tal manera que pueda abastecer a sus clientes ofreciéndoles un mejor servicio y de calidad. Esta es la primera vez que trabaja con Kiva, y está muy contento por el apoyo económico recibido. Con el monto solicitado de S/.1000.00 comprara herramientas que utiliza en su trabajo a diario tales como desarmadores, martillos, entre otros.
