Zahraa Group
In this Group: Nisrine, Zeina, Falak
Zahraa is a group composed of three Lebanese women who have been friends for a while now. They decided to join hands and form the Zahraa group in order to acquire a YOUTH group loan from Al Majmoua. Falak is the leader and featured member of this group. She is a 23-year-old married mother of two children, standing at the left in the picture. She works as a concierge in the building where she and her family live. Her husband works at a small bakery. Their combined revenue is below the average line for a healthy life for a family of four. Their socioeconomic situation, combined with her very low education level, makes it impossible for them to be able to think about their ambitions. The group loan from Al Majmoua might be her last hope to get some financial support. In fact, she needs the loan to purchase a closet, as a well as a TV and a TV set.

Nisrine is a 24-year-old married mother of two children, standing in the center of the picture. She and her husband both work at a printing house. She takes care of the final covering finish work, while he takes care of the printing process. She decided to acquire a loan in order to buy furniture for her living room.

Zeina is a 25-year-old married mother of two children, standing on the right in the picture. She works as a hairdresser in her own hairdressing salon. Her husband works at a printing house. She needs the loan in order to purchase a work kit that ranges from shampoo to creams to hairdryers.

This is a Group Loan

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a larger group of individuals. The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee. In cases where there is a group guarantee, members of the group are responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members in the case of delinquency or default.

Kiva's Field Partners typically feature one borrower from a group. The loan description, sector, and other attributes for a group loan profile are determined by the featured borrower's loan. The other members of the group are not required to use their loans for the same purpose.
