Ryan Joseph, a 24-year-old married man with an only son, lives in Aurora, Zamboanga del Sur. He provides motor-transport services in the local community during his free time from work. It helps them to gather additional income for the daily basic needs of the family.
In order to purchase motor accessories and repair the existing vehicle, he borrowed an amount of 15,000 PHP (Philippines pesos) from GDMPC microcredit. He hopes to gain more income from the business in order to support the needs of his only son.
Gata Daku Multi-Purpose Cooperative (GDMPC) was founded in 1992 by 32 farmer-members to empower people by providing livelihood opportunities and other support services. Today, it has over 15,000 members located in upland, lowland and coastal regions of the Philippines, and offers credit, savings, education, and various social services.
