The 10 members of the Benkadi 2 group are married women with an average age of 32 and, on average, 4 children who all live in traditional families in Faraba, one of the districts of Bougouni town, 3rd administrative region of Mali. They are working together with Soro Yiriwaso in order to carry out their farming activities during the rainy season. This is their 7th loan from the institution and their previous loans have been correctly repaid.

Awa, standing on the far right in the picture, grows rice and groundnuts. She plans to use her loan to buy agricultural inputs and seeds and to pay the labourers needed for the cultivation of 1 hectare of farmland. After the harvest, the produce is sold at the market to a clientèle made up of men and women. She expects to have made a profit of 35 000 francs by the end of the season. This profit will enable her to meet her needs and also to help her family with the daily living expenses.

Elles collaborent avec l’institution de microfinance Soro Yiriwaso afin de mener à bien leurs activités agricoles pendant l’hivernage.
Elles sont à leur septième prêt avec l’institution et les prêts passés ont été bien remboursés.
La spéculation cultivée est le riz et l’arachide, avec Awa 1ere debout de la droite vers la gauche sur la photo, elle compte acheter avec son prêt, des intrants, la semence et payer les frais de labour pour entretenir 1 hectare.
La production est vendue au niveau du marché, après la récolte à une clientèle composée d’hommes et de femmes.
Elle compte réaliser un bénéfice de 35.000 francs CFA en fin de campagne.
Ce bénéfice lui permettra de subvenir à ses besoins et aussi aider la famille dans les dépenses quotidiennes.

Soro Yiriwaso is a microfinance institution that works primarily in rural and semi-urban areas of Mali to provide underprivileged communities with access to financial services.The organization facilitates access for disadvantaged clients, particularly women, to new resources and services, fostering solidarity and cooperation among its clients. Kiva lenders’ funds will enable Soro Yiriwaso to expand its outreach and target even more underserved Malians involved in business and agriculture.
