A resident of a rural village in Dambae District, Chhoern is a 30-year-old mother of two children. The main sources of the family’s income are rice farming on one hectare of farmland and cassava planting on two hectares of farmland. She has been engaged in these activities for ten years. With her current business, she can earn about KHR 41,000 per day to spend on daily expenses. She had her first loan from Kiva partner VisionFund. Now she is applying for another loan of 2,000,000 KHR to buy pesticides and fertilizer for her farmland. She hopes this loan will enable her to increase her income and improve her standard of living.
