Lisbet is a 24-year-old woman. She is single and lives in the city of Ica, in the district of Parcona, with her parents and siblings. She is a very friendly, hard-working and enthusiastic person who has a great desire to get ahead in life. Unfortunately, due to the lack of economic resources, and because of the necessity to work, Lisbet was not able to study for a professional degree in Education as she desired. In her free time, she likes to listen to music, and on some occasions she cooks a delicious Arroz con Pollo [chicken with rice] to share with her family.

On her own initiative, with great effort and dedication, Lisbet works as a waitress at a restaurant in her city. She works every day for approximately 10 hours, and she believes it is going well for her because of the excellent service she provides to her customers.

Lisbet is very grateful to the Kiva lenders, since thanks to the help provided to her she will be able to buy an "Eternit" brand water tank for her home. In this way she will be able to have a better drinking water system which will provide better security and well-being for herself and her family. Thus Lisbet will continue working and making an effort to achieve her great dream: to be able to study for a professional degree.

About Housing Loans

Many poor families cannot afford housing that meets their needs. When you make a housing loan on Kiva, you give people access to flexible capital to obtain or improve their homes. Better housing means better health, sanitation, and even educational outcomes for children. A house can also be much more for entrepreneurs who run businesses out of their homes. In this way, housing and small business loans on Kiva share a common purpose: to alleviate poverty and enable families to enjoy more stable lives.
