Brenda is a married mother with one school-going child. They live at their own house that has electricity and piped water. She operates a food kiosk business, selling to her neighbors and passersby. She faces a major challenge of competition from other food kiosk operators. With the Kshs 25,000 loan she wants to purchase cooking oil, maize flour, wheat flour and rice for resale. She dreams of expanding to her business to earn more income in the future.
About Yehu Microfinance Trust
This loan is administered by Yehu Microfinance Trust, which was founded in 1998 as a project of CHOICE Humanitarian Kenya. In July 2007, Yehu became a separate entity from CHOICE and was registered as a trust. Since then, Yehu has expanded to cover over half of Kenya’s 13 coastal districts.
