Binti has run a store for over one year, and it is going very well. She says that she has a loyal customer base, thanks to her excellent service, in addition to being the best-stocked store in the neighborhood. This combination of factors means that she is enjoying lots of success.
She dreams of being able to continue to grow, so that she can earn enough to help her husband with the household expenses. This loan is administered by Yehu Microfinance Trust, which was founded in 1998 as a project of CHOICE Humanitarian Kenya. In July 2007, Yehu became a separate entity from CHOICE and was registered as a trust. Since then, Yehu has expanded to cover over half of Kenya’s 13 coastal districts.
