Veronica
Verónica is a single mother and lives in a rental house in Achumani, in the city of La Paz. She works selling broaster chicken from her doorway. She also cares for her children throughout the day.

Verónica needs this loan to buy better kitchen appliances which will make her work easier as the machine she currently has is very old and keeps breaking down. She also needs to buy a small oven for cooking potatoes, sweet potatoes, cassava and other items that she serves alongside her chicken. This would give her more time to spend with her children.

Verónica's dreams are to expand her business and to own her own home.

About IMPRO

IMPRO is a small non-profit organization that has been offering micro credit to the working poor in the Bolivian cities of La Paz and El Alto since 1995. IMPRO’s goal is to fight poverty by offering loans to small business owners who cannot access credit through the regular banking system due to a lack of guarantees or collateral.

To ensure that everyone has access to credit, IMPRO maintains a low interest rate by minimizing operational costs. IMPRO’s partnership with Kiva, which began in 2007, has allowed IMPRO to expand its services while maintaining these low interest rates.
