Husein
Husein is a 35-year-old, married man living in his hometown city in the south of Lebanon. He owns a small sanitary shop, which is his only source of financial gain. His wife is currently unemployed, which renders Husein to be the only provider of the household.

This is actually the fifth time that he has contacted Al Majmoua Lebanese Association for Development to acquire a loan. In fact, Al Majmoua Lebanese Association for Development has previously helped him by giving him a loan to build his house and establish his new family.

He needs this loan in order to be able to purchase a new refrigerator and a television, in order to continue renovating his living room. He wishes to complete the process before thinking about having children and going forward with his life. As for the future, Husein hopes that Al Majmoua Lebanese Association for Development would help him expand his business.

The strong financial position achieved to date has allowed Al Majmoua to steadily lower its pricing over the years.

About Housing Loans

Many poor families cannot afford housing that meets their needs. When you make a housing loan on Kiva, you give people access to flexible capital to obtain or improve their homes. Better housing means better health, sanitation, and even educational outcomes for children. A house can also be much more for entrepreneurs who run businesses out of their homes. In this way, housing and small business loans on Kiva share a common purpose: to alleviate poverty and enable families to enjoy more stable lives.
