Cristóbal (first from the left) is the leader of the Group Tzucubal 2 (Collector). He is a 55-year-old man who has 8 children, 2 sons and 6 daughters. They live in the village of Tzucubal in the municipality of Nahualá and department of Sololá.

Cristóbal is a farmer. He sows, maintains and produces corn on his plot located in the village where he lives. He chose this business because of an inheritance from his father and also because it generates food for his family, as corn is the basis of the diet in his community. It also generates income because he sells part of the production (the surplus) in the local market. He has 25 years of experience with this work.

He is asking for a loan for the purchase of improved fertilizer for the maintenance of his corn. With the earnings he obtains, he dreams of improving his family's quality of life, buying them clothing and giving them an education.

El es agricultor, la siembra, mantenimiento y producción de maíz lo realiza en su parcela ubicada en la aldea donde vive, eligió esta actividad por herencia de su padre y también porque a través de ellos genera alimento para su familia porque el maíz es la base de la alimentación en su comunidad y también le genera ingresos porque parte de la producción (excedente) la vende en el mercado local. Cuenta con 25 años de experiencia en esta labor.
El esta solicitando un préstamo para la compra de fertilizante mejorado para el mantenimiento de su maíz.
Con los ingresos que obtiene sueña con mejorar la calidad de vida de su familia, comprándoles ropa, y dándoles educación.

ADICLA (Association for the Holistic Development of the Basin of Lake Atitlán) is nonprofit rural community development association that provides small loans and services to improve quality of life in two of the poorest regions of Guatemala, home to large indigenous populations. Kiva funding will be used to support three innovative credit initiatives: youth business loans, green loans, and smaller loans to help ADICLA move down-market and serve poorer clients.

The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee.
