Naomi's Group
In this Group: Naomi , Odoi , Grace , Ogbede
This is Naomi’s Group, made up of four hard-working and responsible women who, through their businesses, are improving their lives every day. Naomi, 39, is married and has three children who are in school. Naomi decided to take over her old mother's business, selling fresh fish and smoked fish at a small market at Teshie. She makes a living from this activity. She feels happy that ID-Ghana has come with this loan facility, which has helped her household. Her keenest desire is to own a cold store as in this way she will have better profits. The loan she is applying for will be allocated to buying more fish to meet customer demand. The other members are Ogbede, Grace and Odoi. They are also engaged in selling fish. Naomi’s Group needs GHS 5,300 to help them increase their stock.

This is a Group Loan

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a larger group of individuals. The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee. In cases where there is a group guarantee, members of the group are responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members in the case of delinquency or default.

Kiva's Field Partners typically feature one borrower from a group. The loan description, sector, and other attributes for a group loan profile are determined by the featured borrower's loan. The other members of the group are not required to use their loans for the same purpose.
