Anastacia, a 55-year-old married woman, lives in Tuburan, Aloran, Misamis Occidental. To earn a living, she helps her husband manage their farm, planting and havesting rice for sale and for family consumption. As a new member of GDMPC, she is requesting a loan of 20,000 PHP to purchase fertilizer and finance the labor costs of farm maintenance. She hopes that she and her husband will have better living conditions in the near future.
Gata Daku Multi-Purpose Cooperative (GDMPC) was founded in 1992 by 32 farmer-members to empower people by providing livelihood opportunities and other support services. Today, it has over 15,000 members located in upland, lowland and coastal regions of the Philippines, and offers credit, savings, education, and various social services.
