Sreyoeurn, a hardworking mother blessed with three children who are students in a local state school, is 35 years old and a local villager from Kandal Stoeung district of Kandal province. She deals with the daily cost of living by tailoring clothe, paddy rice growing, and vegetable planting. She has just been involved in her current business for two years, earning about 18,800 KHR per day. This is not the first microloan for Sreyoeurn with VisionFund (Kiva’s partner). She has fully repaid her past loan with success and it has enabled her to support her business promptly and relieve her family's burden. Now, she is applying for a new loan in order to buy an additional plot of farmland and a water pump, and to use a portion of it to support her vegetable garden. She hopes to grow her cash crops healthily so that she can gain a high, good yield with a good selling price.

The organization works primarily in rural parts of Cambodia and has distinguished itself by targeting the very poor who require smaller loan sizes, regardless of religious beliefs, gender or ethnic background.

Kiva lenders’ funds will help the organization to expand into the northeastern provinces of the country, which have historically been underserved and difficult to reach with financial services.
