Socheat is 43 years old. She is widowed and resides with three children in Kampong Speu Province, Cambodia. She has been working with her daughter in a garment factory for more than a year, earning approximately $8 daily. In order to improve her family’s finances, Socheat is requesting a loan of $1000 to purchase farmland to use for farming. Specifically, she will grow rice. By doing so, she would earn more income for the family. With this additional income, she hopes she can support her children while they earn bachelor’s degrees.
