Divina is a 32-year-old married woman with two children. She lives in Tangub City, Philippines.
To make a living, Divina sells hanging rice (rice cooked in a pouch made of coconut palm leaves), viands and snacks in the market. She has been doing this for five years.
Recently, she joined GDMPC to gain access to microfinance services. She is now requesting a loan of 5,000 PHP to purchase ingredients. She hopes to provide better living conditions to her children in the near future.
Gata Daku Multi-Purpose Cooperative (GDMPC) was founded in 1992 by 32 farmer-members to empower people by providing livelihood opportunities and other support services. Today, it has over 15,000 members located in upland, lowland and coastal regions of the Philippines, and offers credit, savings, education, and various social services.
