Becoming a professional has always been Amilcar's dream. Amilcar is currently attending the Universidad Salesiana De Bolivia, working towards his degree in business. He plans on graduating in December 2013, but without a loan from Vittana he thinks that he may need to take time off to work and save until he can return to school.
With the loan, Amilcar plans on purchasing his much needed textbooks and school supplies. With the proper books, Amilcar feels he will be able to study more effectively and earn better grades. One of his biggest challenges has been making time to work and go to school. With a career in business, he expects to earn $15 a day, a substantial increase from before.
Unfortunately, Amilcar's parents never had the opportunity to complete their high school education. Without the opportunity for a higher degree, his parents never had the chance to move up. Growing up, finances were always been tight. With three older siblings, Amilcar is unsure how he will be able to afford his tuition fees on his own. To help afford his school and living expenses, Amilcar currently works 30 hours a week as an assistant.
