Becoming a professional has always been Gabriela's dream. Gabriela is currently attending the Instituto Tecnologico Domingo Savio, working towards her degree in business. She plans on graduating in July 2013, but without a loan from Vittana she thinks that she may need to take time off school to work and save until she can afford to return.
With the loan, Gabriela plans to pay her graduation fee. This fee is often more expensive than the semester's tuition and is a frequent impediment for graduating students in Tarija . In addition to her responsibilities at school, Gabriela currently works 40 hours a week as a secretary and earns $8 a day. With a career in business, she expects to earn $13 a day, a substantial increase from before. Gabriela's parents were never able to complete their primary education. For her family of 6, finances have always been tight. With four other siblings Gabriela is unsure how she will be able to finance her education on her own.
This loan is administered by Vittana's partner Banco Fie.
