Paola dreams of becoming a politician but without a degree knows it may never be possible. Paola is currently attending UDABOL, working towards her degree in international relations. She plans on graduating in December 2013, but without a loan from Kiva she fears that she will need to defer her graduation. With the loan, Paola plans to pay her graduation fee. This fee is often more expensive than the semester's tuition and is a frequent impediment for graduating students in La Paz.
Paola currently works 30 hours a week. One of her biggest challenges has been making time to work and go to school. Currently Paola earns $10 a day. With a degree in international relations she expects to earn $15 a day. As the youngest of 2, with one older sibling attending college already, Paola is unsure how she will be able to finance her education on her own without the assistance a loan.
