Wilfredo is single and has a school aged son. He lives in his mother's house in a room that only has a dirt floor. The house is located in the Tambladerani area of the city of La Paz. He works more than eight hours a day as a driver. He uses his income to cover the costs of food, education, and utilities.
He is requesting this loan to pay for the necessary processes to purchase land since this will allow him to improve his quality of life. In the future, he can build a house that will give security and comfort to his son.
This is his eighth loan with IMPRO and second with Kiva.
Wilfredo, es soltero y tiene un hijo que está en etapa escolar, vive en la casa de su madre ocupando solo una habitación que tiene el piso de tierra, la casa se encuentra ubicada en la zona Tembladerani de la ciudad de La Paz.
Actualmente trabaja por más de ocho horas al día como chófer asalariado, y con todo lo que gana debe cubrir los gastos de alimentación, educación y pago de servicios básicos.
El crédito lo requiere para hacer los trámites para la compra de un terreno, ya que con esto podrá mejorar su calidad de vida y a futuro hacer construir una casa para poder darle seguridad y comodidad a su hijo.
Es la octava vez que solicita crédito junto a IMPRO y la segunda vez junto a KIVA.
IMPRO is a small non-profit organization that has been offering micro credit to the working poor in the Bolivian cities of La Paz and El Alto since 1995. IMPRO’s goal is to fight poverty by offering loans to small business owners who cannot access credit through the regular banking system due to a lack of guarantees or collateral.
To ensure that everyone has access to credit, IMPRO maintains a low interest rate by minimizing operational costs. IMPRO’s partnership with Kiva, which began in 2007, has allowed IMPRO to expand its services while maintaining these low interest rates.
