Finda is 39 years old and lives in the Liberian town of St. Paul, a suburb located outside of Monrovia. It has one of the oldest markets in the country and is known for fresh fish because it is located by the ocean. However, it is also one of the poorer areas of the country, and housing quality is often very low. Finda is married and the mother of four children who range in age from 23 to 15 years old. Her spouse works as teacher. Two of her children live at home and still attend school. Finda works at a table in the local market where she sells bread and soft drinks. She has been in business for five years and works 12 hours a day. She is requesting this loan to buy more items to sell to her customers. One of the greatest challenges she faces in life is her low income. She transports her goods to market by taxi and started her business with money from her mother. She is proud of her work because it allows her to earn an income. Her goal is to someday build a house. She would like to extend her thanks to Kiva lenders who support BRAC Liberia.
