Salome is married to Salim. They have five children who attend school. Salome has had a home-based grocery store for about 3 years. Aside from the usual grocery items she also sells beverages and has a pool table that generates extra income, especially on the weekend. She’s requesting this loan to buy rice, sugar, flour and noodles at wholesale. She will also buy beverages like soft-drinks.
About Yehu Microfinance Trust
This loan is administered by Yehu Microfinance Trust, which was founded in 1998 as a project of CHOICE Humanitarian Kenya. In July 2007, Yehu became a separate entity from CHOICE and was registered as a trust. Since then, Yehu has expanded to cover over half of Kenya’s 13 coastal districts.
