Fighting for a better future? We need your help.

Creating a more equitable world takes a lot of time and energy, but at Kiva we’re in it for the long haul. 100% of money lent on Kiva goes to funding loans. That means we rely on donations from people like you to make this work possible. For a limited time, if you donate $35 or more, a $25 bonus will be added to your account (you’ll get an email once it’s there).

A loan of $975 helped to buy school supplies.

Luciano Marcial's story

Luciano lives in La Libertad. He is an enterprising man. He started his taxi service business a long time ago in order to be able to give his family the best. Traveling the streets of La Libertad, little by little, he gets enough to cover his family’s expenses. He works an average of ten hours a day every day. He is married and has four minor children, and they still attend a public school.

He needs the loan to buy school supplies for his children. In spite of his income, he does not have a lot of money to be able to help his children.
