Imad is a 41-year-old married man living with his wife and four children, who are still attending school. He owns a small plot of land where he sells used metal and supplies. His income is barely sufficient, and he has difficulty in paying the high costs of living. At present, Imad is asking to borrow a loan from Kiva partner Vitas s.a.l. to enlarge his operations by purchasing added supplies to sell such as aluminum products and metal car spare parts. Imad took advantage of a first Kiva loan, and he was very satisfied with the results, especially that the loan amount was sufficient to fulfill his business needs. In the future, he is planning to expand his business into other areas.
Due to political and social challenges in Lebanon, personally identifiable attributes entrepreneurs may have been altered to protect their privacy (i.e., blurring portions of the borrower's picture, not indicating a name and location, etc.). Vitas appreciates Kiva lenders' understanding of these challenges and encourages them to continue their support for Lebanon's borrowers.
