Alyah is a 47-year-old, married woman, living with her husband and six children. She cooperates financially with her husband and children to be able to pay the heavy life expenses.
She has owned a fruits and vegetables shop since 2011. Her shop is situated next to her house where she welcomes customers from different areas and villages to buy her fresh goods.
Today, Alyah is requesting a loan from Kiva partner, Vitas. s.a.l., to increase her store’s inventory. She states that the loan will certainly help her extend her trade and increase her income by a large percentage.
In the future, Alyah plans to borrow more Kiva loans to further develop her work.
Due to political and social challenges in Lebanon, personally identifiable attributes entrepreneurs may have been altered to protect their privacy (i.e., blurring portions of the borrower's picture, not indicating a name and location, etc.). Vitas appreciates Kiva lenders' understanding of these challenges and encourages them to continue their support for Lebanon's borrowers.
