Donelsi Elisabet
Donelsi is a 42-year-old woman who is married and the mother of 4 children. Her children study and when they are done with their activities they help their parents with the fieldwork. She has been a farmer and saleswoman for many years. It has been difficult to get ahead with her partner and her children. She is an enterprising woman because she has decided not only to work in the cultivation of coffee, but also work in the sale of new and used clothing where she goes to different areas to sell. She harvests her own land. She has worked hard for many years not to rent land and this way she can obtain her net profits where only her and her family can interfere.

Currently, she is requesting a credit to purchase supplies and provide maintenance to her coffee crops. This way she will have a better and cleaner crop. Her dream is to make her crops have technical assistance to convert them to the best in the area. This will help her provide education to her children and send them to a university.

Additional Information

More information about this loan

These loans are designed for female farmers who produce a variety of products (onion, garlic, eggplant, spinach, mango, strawberries, etc.). Loan terms will vary depending on need, and borrowers can choose to make a "bullet" payment timed with harvest profits. Agricultural loans are considered risky in Honduras due to external forces like unpredictable weather and worldwide crop prices. As a result, many traditional financial institutions are unwilling to offer these loans. With Kiva funding, COMIXMUL will be able to reach more borrowers with agricultural loans tailored to their needs.
