Aida Yolanda
Aida Yolanda lives in the municipality of Oro, a very beautiful community known for its artisans, its picturesque scenery, and its striking colours.
Doña Yolanda does not like to be called Yolanda at any time; she is lovingly known as Yola. She is 50 years old and has been married for 32 years to Señor Alejandro. Together, they have built a family; they have two children, neither of whom are dependent on them anymore. Yola has had a beauty parlour for 18 years. She says that she started her beauty parlour because she loved cutting hair even when she was very young.
Yola told us "I got married very young, but after that I studied in order to improve the quality of my work. I didn't have a place for my salon, but while I studied my husband and I worked very hard to build the shop, gathering bottles in the streets and selling them. With the income from that we bought material for building the shop. Bit by bit we finished it. The dyes, the combs, the brushes, the treatments, and other things, we bought thanks to loans from Vision Fund and Kiva; I am very grateful for this".
Yola is requesting this loan for the purchase of dyes, treatments, peroxides, shampoo, brushes, etc. She loves working at her beauty parlour. She has a lot of clientele. She used to serve anyone, but now only works by appointment. Yola is very happy and is always in a very good mood. Her customers love her. Above all, she is very hard-working and responsible with her work.
Yola does not have any problems with her business. She has always tried to succeed in her work by providing good quality service so that her clients come back. Her goals are all met, though she always wants to maintain a recognized salon and to have her space, which she has achieved through great hard work.
