Sera is married and has been blessed with four school-going children. Her husband is a businessman and he contributes to the upbringing of their children. They own a house that neither has electricity nor piped water.
Sera operates a fruit and vegetable stall business, selling from home to her neighbors and passersby. She faces a major challenge high cost of transportation in her place of operation. She dreams of expanding to a wholesale shop in the future.
With the KES 10,000 she wants to purchase sacks of potatoes, tomatoes, onions and fruits for resale. She decided to join Yehu to access loans to boost her business.
About Yehu Microfinance Trust
This loan is administered by Yehu Microfinance Trust, which was founded in 1998 as a project of CHOICE Humanitarian Kenya. In July 2007, Yehu became a separate entity from CHOICE and was registered as a trust. Since then, Yehu has expanded to cover over half of Kenya’s 13 coastal districts.
