Abdo is a 53-year-old Lebanese man. He’s married, and lives with his wife and five children, who attend school. Together with his wife, he is trying his best to bring added income to the family and enhance their way of living. He began working as a car blacksmith a few years ago. He has twenty-five years of experience in this domain and has done his best to improve and develop himself. He opened his own garage two years ago. As he wants to enlarge his business and grow his work as well, he decided to take a loan from Kiva partner Vitas s.a.l to purchase the metal supplies necessary to carry on his work in a proper way. Abdo wishes to offer his family a great life; this is the reason why he needs to amplify his income in order to be able to make the savings necessary to achieve his goals.
Due to political and social challenges in Lebanon, personally identifiable attributes entrepreneurs may have been altered to protect their privacy (i.e., blurring portions of the borrower's picture, not indicating a name and location, etc.). Vitas appreciates Kiva lenders' understanding of these challenges and encourages them to continue their support for Lebanon's borrowers.
