Klara is 26 years old, married, and the mother of a two-year-old child. She lives in south-eastern Albania. Since her early twenties, Klara has worked in agricultural with her husband. They plant veggies and sell them to the local market in a nearby city. Kindly note that Klara has been photographed here in the field that she uses to plant veggies and potatoes. The couple also works in their village’s church; doing mostly cleaning and landscaping. Klara is happy with their business and the income she generates from selling her fresh produce. Through this loan of ALL100,000, she will be able to buy some pesticides for her plants. She wants to thank Kiva lenders for their financial help to her and other people like her.
About VisionFund Albania
VisionFund Albania is a micro-finance subsidiary of child hunger nonprofit World Vision International. Striving to improve child welfare, the organization offers a variety of loan products designed for rural, traditionally underserved clients and their families. These products include agriculture, business and household improvement loans, as well as "integration loans" targeted to help the poorest, most vulnerable Albanian households acquire value chain resources.
While VFA is focused on the empowerment of the poor overall, it pays special attention to women. About 60% of loans to entrepreneurs on Kiva go to women.
