Margarita
Margarita’s a single, 52-year-old lady who has three children: two girls and one boy. They live in Sololá. She’s worked as a craftswoman and weaver for 15 years. She chose this work because she can sell her wares in the small crafts store she has. By means of what she sells at home she earns income and adequate profits to cover family expenses.

She also has a second occupation in agriculture. She does this because she wants to improve her income and contribute to her family’s progress.

She’s asking for a 9,000 Quetzal loan to buy carrot seeds and organic fertilizer to grow carrots. She dreams with expanding the business and buying a piece of land by means of the profits she earns through the work she does.

Margarita es una señora soltera de 52 años quien tiene 3 hijos 2 mujeres y 1 hombre, quienes viven en Sololá.
Ella se dedica a la artesanía y a tejer desde hace 15 años, eligió esta labor ya que puede comercializar su producto en la pequeña tienda de artesanía que tiene. A través de lo que comercializa en donde vive, obtiene ingresos y ganancias aceptables para cubrir los gastos de la economía familiar.
También se dedica a una segunda actividad como agricultora, lo realiza porque desea mejorar sus ingresos y aportar al progreso de su familia.
Ella esta solicitando un préstamo de Q 9,000.00 para compra de semilla de zanahoria y fertilizante orgánico para cultivo de zanahoria.

ADICLA (Association for the Holistic Development of the Basin of Lake Atitlán) is nonprofit rural community development association that provides small loans and services to improve quality of life in two of the poorest regions of Guatemala, home to large indigenous populations. Kiva funding will be used to support three innovative credit initiatives: youth business loans, green loans, and smaller loans to help ADICLA move down-market and serve poorer clients.
