Juan Carlos's story

Juan, 50, is single living in the city of Camaná. He’s a very kind, hardworking, enthusiastic person who focuses all his efforts into getting ahead. Sadly, for lack of economic resources and because he needed to start working very young to help his parents, Juan was unable to study Agronomy. In his free time he enjoys playing soccer with his friends and sometimes cooks a delicious shrimp stew to share with his family.

On his own initiative and with much effort and dedication, Juan works in agriculture. He has a small parcel of land where he grows broad beans. He works every day for about 10 hours working in the field. Juan feels good going his work and thinks he does well because of his experience and the kind way he treats others.

Juan is very grateful to Kiva lenders because thanks to the support they provided he will be able to cover costs of manure, irrigation and harvesting his crop and in this way Juan will be able to insure the proper growth of his crop and he will be able to continue working and striving to reach his great dream: to expand the variety of his crops.
