Misael
Misael is a 25-year-old man. He lives in the city of Cañete in the district of Imperial with his wife and their two small daughters, whom he loves and who are his main motivation in life.

He is a very cheerful, hardworking, and enthusiastic person, who has a strong desire to overcome. Unfortunately, due to a lack of economic resources and the fact that he needed to work to help out his parents since he was very young, Misael was not able to study for the professional career in Engineering that he hoped for.

In his free time, he likes to play sports, and sometimes, he cooks a delicious Carapulcra con Sopa Seca (dried potatoes with meat, sauce, and a side of soup) to share with his family.

Through his own initiative and with a lot of determination and dedication, Misael works offering irrigation installation systems to various farming businesses. He works every day for approximately 10 hours, and he believes that it’s going well for him because of his excellent performance and the kind treatment that he shows to others.

Misael is very grateful to the Kiva lenders, since thanks to the help they have offered, he will be able to carry out improvements on his home. He wants to buy eucalyptus trees and sugar cane stalks and mats, which he will use to make improvements on his house’s roof.

Currently, his house is made of matting, and it’s damaged from the sun and wind. In this way, Misael and his family will be able to have greater security and well-being, so he will continue working and making an effort to achieve his greatest dream of seeing his daughters become professionals.

About Housing Loans

Many poor families cannot afford housing that meets their needs. When you make a housing loan on Kiva, you give people access to flexible capital to obtain or improve their homes. Better housing means better health, sanitation, and even educational outcomes for children. A house can also be much more for entrepreneurs who run businesses out of their homes. In this way, housing and small business loans on Kiva share a common purpose: to alleviate poverty and enable families to enjoy more stable lives.
